This stunning "donegal" corduroy comes from one of our favorite mills in Italy which specializes in weaving only corduroys and velvets. They've been weaving corduroy since the late 1800s, and still have a stream running through the mill which they use to wash and clean the cotton.
An exclusive fabric to Wythe, the donegal cords came about when we were looking for a corduroy to compliment our obsession with traditional donegal yarns. We approached this corduroy mill with some of our inspiration, and we worked together to go through their archive to come up with the answer. Throughout the years, they had come up with their own process to achieve a donegal effect in their signature super-soft corduroy. This effect is unique to this mill and there are many steps involved in the process to create this beautiful fabric.
