This flat front pant is made in the same style as our Flat Front Chino Pant, but made in a lightweight Indigo dyed Cotton/linen blend. This pant works beautifully on its own as a patterned pant, and also can be mixed and matched with the other indigo fabrics in this collection for a more playful take on a matching suit.
These fabrics were all inspired by early 19th and 20th century French and American handspun indigo dyed fabrics. Originally made on a narrow handlooms the fabrics were handsewn together and used for anything and everything in early homesteads. There are surviving examples of skirts, aprons, towels, and bed linens. All beautifully handmade and loved for many years. Inevitably these pieces include many worn in areas that have been repaired and patched. For this collection we showed these original handmade fabrics to a specialist mill in Chennai that was able to recreate this rustic look and feel while also making the fabric super comfortable against the skin. Its lightweight enough for the dead heat of the summer sun, while the cotton and linen fibers help to regulate the temperature on the skin. The indigo yarns will fade and soften with each wash and each day spent enjoying the sun.
