It starts with the cloth. This large scale herringbone is woven with four different coloured yarns complete with natural donegal flecks from the spinners in Ireland. Wythe again has partnered with the same sixth generation mill in Ireland as last falls Ombre Diamond weave, and are so proud of this new and warm cloth. The heavier weight of this cloth allows for a straight drape in the coat, and in our own field testing kept really warm on winter walks and even outdoor patio seated dinners here in New York. The Raglan sleeve is voluminous and allows for ease of movement and a great shoulder line. The collar is large (as all good collars are) and looks just as good flipped up to block the wind and frame the face as it does put down (strongly suggested to keep it flipped up though). There is a detachable throat latch for when things get really blustery. All in all, this is our ideal coat and will serve both its first and likely a couple of owners after that.
